Lion's Mane Elixir
Hericium erinaceus (Lions Mane) triple extraction in organic cane alcohol and raw wildflower honey
2 oz
Dosage: Take 1-2 dropperfuls (2ml) 2-3 times per day by mouth or in a splash of water.
Increase cognitive fucntion and support the brain! Lion’s mane is a medicinal wood rotting fungus that resembles a tufted lion’s mane. This mushroom offers protection against neurodegenerative disease and age related cognitive decline. They increase neurotrophic activity, improving focus, memory, and recall. Fruiting bodies contain hericenones that are shown to stimulate NGF (nerve growth factor).
I also recommend Lion’s mane for healing the vagus nerve and regulating inflammation within the gut. TCM has long used lion’s mane for gastrointestinal healing. When the vagus nerve is dysfunctional, studies find increased inflammation and dysregulated mucosal immunity.
The fascinating thing is, this nerve-gut regulation tends both ways. Through decreased GI inflammation and lower cortisol, lion’s mane can also support our anxiety and stress responses. Less inflammation = less stress, and by supporting the gut mucosa, we also support the mind.
Like other medicinal fungi, best results are seen with consistent use over the long term.
